fits in the previous cut out over the range

Fit like a glove ,replaced my old profile Many thanks to the ge , theres different heights and if you get one that is a little larger, and have the back splash tiled up to the bottom, the new one will not fit height wise. Give them your old model and they will give you a new model number that fits. Not only does it fits but the back bracket was exact as my old profile. Very pleased with calling and getting the correct information

Great features and quieter

I had a GE Profile Advantium model PSA1201RSS01 over the range microwave for more than 3 years. It was very loud on the exhaust vent fan and even opening and closing its door was loud and noisy. Recently the motor on the vent fan went out and I decided to replace the entire microwave instead of repairing the vent motor. Since I didn't use the Advantium portion I decided to go for the latest GE over the range microwave without the Advantium feature. I purchased the GE Profile PNM9216SKSS (Stainless steel color) over the range microwave from Home Depot and I installed it myself and with the help of my wife. This new microwave's backplate screw holes are not in the same locations as the holes for the previous microwave's backplate. Also the screw hole locations and the hole for the power cord at the top for the cabinet are not in the same locations either. So I had to drill new holes to do the installation. After the microwave was installed I can see that it is not only beautiful but the vent fan is quieter, the opening and closing of the door is quieter as compared to my previous microwave and I love its cool white LED light that is over the range. I also did purchased the extended 5-year warranty for it. Hopefully I will have several years of use with my new GE over the range microwave.

Lots of ways to cook and heat your food.

Had the unit for almost 3 months and we like the options available to cook your food. We haven't tried all the features yet since there are many of them. We had a 1300 watt model before so this 1000 watt unit takes a bit longer to cook but that was expected. The rotary-dial cook button took a couple days to get used to [push a button, turn the selection dial [for time], push a button, turn the selection dial again [for heat range ], then push the round rotary button to start. It spins the food but has an option not to I believe. Overall, we're happy with it.
