Very easy to get started and user friendly. Keyboard is comfortable and the touchscreen works well. Very good product and extremely affordable. There is not much memory but there are some options to help with this.

For the most part this is a very nice laptop that does what it is supposed to do in supporting my daughter in her high school work. She has a gaming desktop so we do not need much in terms of high end performance. It is nice Dell publishes the service manual, and we will certainly upgrade from 32 Gbytes storage soon [This amount is absurdly inadequate in today's world especially with today's prices for SSDs). We will upgrade memory to 8 Gbytes if/when needed, and I believe there is a larger replacement battery on the market. There is, however, one design flaw that I was not expecting in a Dell computer. I have used laptops since they were 2 inches thick and weighed 10 pounds and have used many types of pointing devices. I have used at least a dozen different models of Dell laptops, and all had very adequate touchpads with separate left and right click “buttons” - until this one. We have experience with another budget-squared discount store special laptop, and with a bottom of the spectrum Lenovo N22 laptop. I was expecting the Dell to have a usable touchpad like the Lenovo N22 but instead find a touchpad like our “toy” laptop from the discount store. Instead of having separate buttons for left and right click there is a single sheet of plastic that you need to bend down to activate a micro switch under the plastic. This takes considerable force and the cursor often moves as you are pressing down. My thumb gets sore after a few minutes of navigating the device for setup, and I can't imagine editing a word document using that pointing device. If this laptop were for me it would be sent back – but as I said my daughter is used to her toy computer that is more of a tablet and this has a tablet mode. She is also used to mashing the left and right buttons with her left hand, something I never think of when using a laptop. So for her this is a step up over her disintegrating toy and we will keep it.
