Unfortunate fragrance change.

Unfortunately I can't use dawn dish soap any longer. The new fragrance is bad enough that it gives me headaches. I have washed dishes by hand for the last 23 years, and always used original dawn. The fragrance is strong enough that it registers on the my air quality monitor. Our house typically stays between 150-600 parts per billion measures VOCs. I tried to use it today for some cleaning, and the VOCs tripled from 560 ppb to 1780 ppb just while later. It has remained elevated for three hours so far. The old recipe did have some fragrance, but it wasn't nearly so bad.

Can't buy Dawn due to its lingering stink

Horrid, horrid piercing scent. It does not even come off the RINSED dishes easily - or my hands. We eat in the kitchen and the scent lingers. Is it safe for people to be exposed to this unnatural scent this much? Is there a truly unscented Dawn dish soap now? Until I find one, I will have to use another dishwashing soap. I do want to ask if Dawn is still safe to use on oceanic wildfowl affected by oil spills. I wouldn't think so, due to the pungent and lingering odor. I'm really surprised that Dawn soap smells this bad now. We all have to wash dishes, but I would bet more women wash dishes than men do, and women's senses of smell are generally more acute. Wondering how sales are doing.

the old scent, how i miss thee......

as others have stated, the former scent was pleasant enough and certainly didn't even approach being offensive . the latest iteration is the poll opposite, it's awful. sufficiently awful, i have stopped purchasing Dawn. that said, i just read that in february 2026, that's right now, the original scent was being brought back....ok. let' see.
