Better briquets all around in my opinion

Was shopping for charcoal for my Weber and Pit Barrel Smoker and decided to try these briquets over my usual brand, Kingsford. I like the better value, bigger briquets, and longer burn, and taste of this Cowboy brand over Kingsford and will be buying more in the future.

good value charcoal

I do a quite a lot of smoking of meats. I use a charcoal chimney with paper at the bottom to light it. I add a few small squirts of charcoal lighter fluid to get it started easily. this gets charcoal going pretty fast. I like to wait a good 10 to 20 minutes for it to get really hot before dumping into my smoke box. this charcoal has a nice smoke for a good price point. since I smoke often the double bag is a value and lasts. like any charcoal bag is good to keep dry. I hope Walmart continues to sell this solid value charcoal.

this charcoal is different

I originally bought this because it was cheap and I was moving and it was a great value. well now I will continue to buy it because it's amazing. I don't know what they do to make this so different than any other charcoal I've ever used. but it's amazing. it has a very unique flavor. but that's not a bad thing. it doesn't struggle to stay lit at all. I make my pyramid I put a little bit of lighter fluid on it light it come back in 15 minutes and it is glowing red hot. Burns evenly for a good amount of time. I can use about 10 briquettes to cook chicken wings or pork chops or burgers. and I don't know what binder they use in it but it does not create a lot of smoke or off-putting soot type flavor. I live in an apartment complex and have no issues using this whatsoever
