It works really well, my dog is drinking more water now than he ever has from just a plain water bowl. That tells me that the filtration is doing its job by removing the bacteria that dogs are sensitive to smelling. I've only had it for 2 weeks so I can't tell you how long the filter lasts for how long the water pump lasts but according to the description, the water pump is only good for a year if you keep it clean, that's kind of upsetting.
