Well-made Roman/cellular shade combo for blackout

These are relaxed fold roman blinds. (Roman blinds have 4 types: plain fold, relaxed fold, hobbled fold, and flat fold.) I almost gave this 4-stars, because the product did not come with instructions, nor are there any on its listing. But I looked at a couple online videos for other roman blinds and figured it out. Items you will need to install with best results: 1. Phillips screwdriver - to screw the blind clips to the wall above the window or window molding. 2. Drill - to pre-drill the holes for the clips to make them easier to screw in (1/8" bit worked well for me). 3. Measuring tape %26 pencil - to properly mark where the blind clips should go. 4. level - so that you don't go nuts later with a height difference from one side to the other. - The clips will install metal side down, plastic side up. The blinds size I purchased were 40" wide, so 3 clips were included. - Remove the velcro cover from the top/front before installing them, for a much easier time. - Push in the back first, and then clip in the front. It took me a couple tries, as it was tricky with 3 clips, but I was able to figure it out within a few moments. - Then evenly place the velcro piece back on. The fabric is nice and thick, and the gray color I purchased was a soft canvas texture. It has a 2nd layer of white fabric behind it. For my north/northwest facing window that does get a fair amount of later afternoon light, these blinds are blackout. Note, the 40" blind width does extend a couple inches on the right and left of my 36" window, so your experience could be different. Then attached behind the fabric front are celluar blinds, which I was not expecting. The roman part of the blinds does fold up like a traditional roman blind from the front. However, instead of being attached to a cord that folds it up, the fabric is attached to the cellular blinds at intervals. So if you are looking for extra window insulation, this could be ideal. In the photo, there are these triangular clear plastic clips. Those are hold down clips that can be installed. We raise and lower our blinds multiple times a day, so I did not install them. If you want to learn how to install, search online for "blinds hold down brackets". I had looking for quite some time for rare combo of economical but good quality roman blinds. This was a great combo of the two, and I would purchase again.
