I have the metal hammock stand and this is too long for it. However if you twist the end inside the middle of the strings on both sides it gets tight enough to hold two people. I love this hammock. I've had other quilted hammocks and they are slippery and thin material. This one is thick and fluffy non slip material. Very comfy for this 7 month pregnant mom.
