CorLiving Antonio Bar Height Barstool in Bonded Leather

We ordered two and liked them enough to immediately order two more. They are great-looking, built strong and the hardware supplied for assembly is high-quality and heavy-duty. You need NONE of your own tools to assemble, as all 15 of the screws and bolts have the same size hex heads and they supply the one wrench needed for the entire assembly. Easily assembled by one person, but does take a bit of time. First one took about 30 minutes because I take care to sort out all the hardware to ensure what goes where. As with anything I assemble, I use a slow, cross-torque tightening sequence, leaving all screws and bolts loose until everything is together, then tighten them up in cross-wise order a little at a time, in no hurry. The next three stools went much faster. The assembly instructions are clear except for one: "Important: please make sure the cam studs face out as shown". None of the diagrams seems to show this and I wasn't sure what they meant by a "cam stud". They ought to change the diagram to make this clearer. I think it refers to the mortise and tenon joints on the leg cross pieces, as they bow out a bit. You could mistakenly reverse these pieces front to back, but you would notice that the piece didn't mate well with the legs. Just reverse the piece and all will be well. My only concern is the wood finish. It seems to be paint rather than wood stain and could be easily nicked, exposing white wood against the dark finish. Out of four stools, two had a wood piece that came badly nicked enough that I asked the manufacturer for replacement pieces, which was very easy to do and shipped impressively fast, no questions asked, no need to return the defective parts. If not for the finish, these would be rated 5-stars. One more thing: the product listing says these are bonded leather, but nowhere on the box, paperwork or the materials label on the underside of the stool mentions leather or bonded leather. The label on the old stools these replaced clearly said bonded leather and stated the percent of the leather. I don't know why these don't; perhaps the company can clear this up. We like the stools and would buy more furniture from this manufacturer.
