Complete String Quartets

The young Juan Crisostomo Jacobo Antonio de Arriaga y Balzola was celebrated as "The Spanish Mozart". But did he deserve this title? This highly talented musician, born just after Berlioz and a couple of years before his twentieth birthday. But fefore he did, he made the choild prodigy rounds. He caught the attetntion of Cherubini, who brougth him to the paris Conservator, and by the age of 18 Arraga was taching there. His legacy is mostly based on his three String Quartets. Here we find bold harmonies, uncoventional sound effects, and the highly romantic, emotional expressive world that inspired amazement among his contemporaries. This recording has been unavailable for some time, and, since it is always in demand, is now re-issued with a new catalogue number.
