Comic Act (Widescreen)

Director Jack Hazan (Rude Boy) takes us behind the microphone and into the lives of three very real comedians in this witty and sexy look at the world of live entertainment. Danny, an up and coming booker, struggles to survive in London's very competitive underground comedy scene. In his quest for the "next big thing," he discovers the beautiful and talented Alex (Suki Webster). Danny introduces Alex to Gus (David Schneider, The Saint) and Jay (Neil Mullarkey, Austin Powers); they have an instant chemistry. Alex joins the duo's routine and, with her wild antics and sexual overtones, she brings the act to a new and funnier level. Before they know what's hit them, Gus, Alex and Jay become the toast of the urban club scene. The crowds come out in droves and the venues get bigger, but behind the scenes, tension builds. Sexual obsession, drug abuse and petty jealousy threaten to split them apart. What will happen to the trio's fragile friendship and will their Comic Act survive the pressures of escalating fame?.
