Comfygo Ultra Lightweight Manual Wheelchair for Adults - 17.5-Inch Seat Ergonomic Portable Wheel Chair with Elevated Adjustable Footrest, All Terrain Wide Wheels (Blue)

I've been a left above knee amputee for 36 years and wanted a substantial wheelchair to keep in my vehicle. It needed to have quick release axles for the wheels and come in under 35 pounds total. 36 years of disability has taken its toll on my upper body as well, including shoulder surgeries. I liked the looks of this wheelchair, I love the mag wheels versus spokes and liked that it comes with just the right amount of padding. The width of the wheels is substantial with nice tread and even the front wheels are wider, making this chair potentially ideal to use on crushed stone gravel and short sections of grass. The frame is very solid. However, there were four major issues that lands me on returning this, very unfortunately. First, there is no height adjustability whatsoever on this wheelchair. It is a 19" rise from the floor to the seat and I need it about an inch shorter to use my right foot to propel comfortably since my shoulders are bad and need the extra oomph using my right foot. Many people do not use a foot to propel themselves, but it is necessary for me. Unless I'm wearing my prosthetic and using the chair I do not use the leg rests at all. Second, I don't like how far back I had to reach to grab the rims. It is much further back than any other wheelchair I have ever used or owned. For somebody with existing shoulder disabilities it's a bad move. Third, as shipped the brakes in the "off" position literally touch the wheels. Thankfully, you can adjust this, but it would've been nice to have it in a more usable condition to begin with - and it is the only adjustable part of this chair. It also comes with brakes if someone is pushing you. After 30 days those would have been coming off without question. For others this could be very handy, but not for me. Fourth, this chair reclines far too much for somebody who is going to self propel. If purchasing for someone who will need assistance it's probably a very comfortable fit, but it was very uncomfortable for me. Overall, I don't think this is a great choice for somebody who is going to use this chair independently. The reclining position alone made it uncomfortable as I tried to propel. This never left my living room carpet because I wasn't sure how it was going to work and want a hassle free return/no signs of use. As with all products, the rating you give is based on your own experiences. I was encouraged by the number of positive reviews I read, but everybody has a different situation. I truly hate that I have to return this, but it's just not the right fit for me. For others it could be a great fit. So I just wanted to be careful on this review because it seems like a quality build, but for a very experienced wheelchair user with my disabilities it's just not going to work. It just wasn't a "comfy go" for me, but clearly liked by others.
