I purchased these slippers because my feet swell from time to time and they work quite well for that use. I would not recommend wearing them outside of the house. They do have tendency to move around on your feet if you are wearing on carpeting but it's not something that can't be dealt with. The slippers will keep a chill off your feet on tile floors.
