Longer length to keep the tops of your legs warm; roomy front patch pockets; zippered security pocket with easy access and large enough to hold cell phone, drivers license etc; a roomy hood (adjustable for your head size and whether or not you're wearing a hat); fur trim on hood is plush and generous and does an excellent job of blocking the wind. I went with collegiate navy which has a bit of a denim vibe to it which is attractive. I usually wear an XL in Columbia coats but this one has a generous cut (even with being rated “active fit”) and an L fit perfectly.

The length is wonderful and keeps me warm. I like the chest pocket. It worked great for my badge at work. The hood kept my ears so warm on this frigid morning.
