I measured the screen from top left corner to bottom right and it was 10." The dvd played great, no skipping, the picture quality was good, and I liked the sound quality too. I was worried because the last portable dvd player I tried had terrible sound, but this one was good. It has a headphone jack, no headphones included. The volume gets loud enough for me that I can state that I approve of this item. I highly recommend this!
