Nice contemporary style and color and fairly easy assembly!

We bought this (queen sized) bed along with the dresser and nightstand when we updated our son's superhero-themed bunkbed room to more of a grownup boy room after he turned 10. This time around he went with a western/cowboy theme and the Edmonton set fit the decor (and the bill). It is made well and reasonably priced. The only dilemma we had was when we were trying to determine the height of the box spring we needed to opt for with his new mattress set, which was going to get delivered before the bed would. We knew the mattress we were getting for him was already a little on the taller side, but we didn't want the mattress, combined with the normal 9 inch the box spring, to look overwhelmingly tall next to his matching Edmonton nightstand - which is under 2 ft tall. And with the same token, we didn't want to get the shorter 4.5 inch box spring only to find out that the top of the mattress would then be below the bottom of the headboard (which doesn't go all the way down to the floor). The dimensions on Hayneedle and the manufacturer's website only include the basic WxDxH measurements of the bed, so to find out how high the support slats (which hold the box spring and mattress) were from the ground, I called Coaster and customer service had to get me through the product engineering department which then told me that the distance from the floor to the top of slats is 10 inches and the distance from the floor to the bottom of the headboard is 24 inches. So.... the combined minimum height that your mattress/box spring combo needs to be to cover the empty wall space behind the bed is 14 inches. In the end we went with the shorter 4.5 inch box spring which ended up working better as the mattress and short box spring covered the empty space under the headboard but at the same time it didn't make the mattress awkwardly taller than the top of the nightstand next to it. The bed comes in two boxes. Assembly was fairly easy for anyone good with hand tools.

Damaged, Not ""real wood""

Damaged upon receipt even though all packaging and boxes intact. Headboard scratched middle front & top left corner of headboard; headboard looks like it had been dropped and dragged. FYI: It is not really ""real wood""/solid wood except for a few pieces (1% of the product""), but ""MDF"" w plastic wood print print glued to it.
