The desk is very well-made and a great design with a minimal amount of metal hardware. It's sturdy and I believe it will last through more than one child. The included toy box is a fabric one that is going to minimize bumps and bruises vs wood or other materials. The art storage cabinet is cute and very small, perfectly sized for toddlers. It is not what I would call sturdy, however, I am still pleased with the way it assembled and the way it looks. I like the extra storage in the bottom for crayons and coloring books and things like that. The art cups at the top will hold markers and paint brushes and related supplies nicely. If a child tries to sit on the shelf, this entire piece is going to collapse and become useless, so hopefully that won't happen. Storing their art work on the shelf would help deter them from doing that, because when empty, it does look like a place to sit.
