Now that I have the boots the snakes have run away :). The boot is very comfortable fitting nicely for me, a wide, and regular for my wife. They are stiff in the beginning but they break in well in the deep woods. I was concerned with the zipper being the weak-link for a snake fang penetration but this is not the case at all; it is actually a safer zone do to the layering of the inner material. The zipper works very easily. One great advantage of this boot is the boots grip to the ground without packing the tread with dirt/clay that would deny quality traction. I would recommend this to all.

Purchased these about 3 weeks ago to replace and aging pair of lace-up snake boots. After weighing all features in several brands, I settled on the Retractions. These are light and required almost no break-in period. They run true to size as I normally wear 11W and that's what I ordered. Fit great. Zippers are YK2 brand metal. I am satisfied with fitment and quality. So far, the waterproofing is untested, but I expect Rocky to honor the 1-year warranty if that becomes an issue.
