At some point, when Walmart was completely out of split peas, I looked online and found this brand. I ordered a 3 lb. bag. This brand is cleaner, looks better, and tastes much better than previous brands I've purchased. I add my ingredients and also slice a Kielbasa sausage into the soup during the final hour. Once cooked, the texture is beautifully smooth. Last year, I started making a double recipe (2 lbs. at one time) as my mother also loves split pea soup. I do freezer meal prep and take half to Mom. Since I'm using 2 lbs. at once now, I decided to purchase the 25 lb. bag. I'm extremely pleased with this product and will continue to purchase it. P.S. Split peas are an excellent source of protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. A bowl (or two) with homemade garlic/cheese bread is a wonderful, hearty meal, especially during the winter months.
