HART 14-inch Forged Steel Hatchet with Face Cutouts, New Condition

I am a Spark Reviewer for Walmart and was sent a free HART TOOLS 14” Forged Steel Hatchet to review. This hatchet is a heavy-duty hatchet and is perfect for camping, hiking, gardening, and general yard work. The hatchet is a little heavy, but it sits in my hand rather comfortably and level. The forged steel makes it strong and the head and arm is one piece, so I won't ever have to worry about the head falling off. The head itself is 5” wide by 3” long at the blade end and at the opposite end of the head is a hammer area that is 1 ¾” long by ¾” wide. This makes it easy for me to hammer in things like tent posts. The blade itself is sharp and even comes with a soft plastic shield for both safety and protection of the blade when not in use. The head of the hatchet has face handles. These are indentations in the head where I can grip the head safely to help remove it from wood just in case it gets stuck. The handle is 12” long and 8” of it is covered in a soft vinyl material that has grooves on the top where I grip it on the top and a non-slip patterned material around the rest of the area so I get a firm grip and no slippage when using the hatchet. As a bonus, the hatchet comes with a heavy-duty nylon cover for the head of the hatchet. The cover slips on the end of blade side and closes with an elastic and snap closure. The blade end of the cover has metal rivets to prevent the blade from poking through. I really like that I can use the cover along with the plastic shield. The case even has a metal belt clip so it will be easy to carry on hiking or camping. The hatchet easily chops through small twigs and branches and it took very little effort to do it. For me this is a very handy tool that I can use both at home and out camping or long hikes. I am very happy with this quality tool.
