It is made from reasonably good materials; metal just the right strength to do the job properly, plastic adjusters and bumpers that seem to be good quality and machine screws that are proper for the job they do. The hinge setup functions properly, the latch is great. The white paint seems top shelf too. Only negative is it is mechanical/metal work that seems out of place style wise, mounted in a hardwood doorway with hardwood baseboard and door casings all around, as well as a hardwood floor. It should be made of nice hardwood, and looks added on and as if it does not belong. My dogs hate it too, because it does a great job.

Ordered this when we adopted two kittens (in September) which will be housed inside with our 90%23 German Shepherd. They rule the whole house, but they have their own room where the GS cannot get to their food or litter and they can come and go as they please! I saw some for over $100 on Amazon and I loved this one because it has the little cat door they can go in and out of whenever they want. It's wonderful! I can't believe I found it!!
