CK Products Floral/Florist Tape Used together with floral/florist wire to make stems for gum-paste flowers To use, stretch the tape (a must) as you wrap to activate its adhesiveness and make it stick not only to the wire but also to itself. (Stretching also lengthens the tape so you have more of it.) Stretch and wrap, stretch and wrap.Start at the end of the wire, wrapping it extra around the tip, which you can bend with pliers to make a bud. Continuing to stretch the tape as you go, wrap the floral tape down the wire to cover it. Wrapped wire can be cut into equal pieces with the length you need for your gum-paste flower stems. Wrap the wire before or after attaching it to your flower. Also use to wrap around a gift box. Wire wrapped in green or brown cloth makes your flower look real by having what looks like a real stem. Wire wrapped in white cloth allows whiteness of white cream or fondant to be unbroken by other colors and also avoids making the wire visible when its stuck into a white flower petal. If, after wrapping your stem, its not as thick as you need, you can make it thicker by wrapping more tape around it (starting again at the top and working your way to the bottom).
