I originally purchased another rug from this site and had to return it as it was not what I expected, and although this was on me (I had never even heard of no pile rugs, and considered that and 0.08 pile height to be a typo) it was not only disappointing, but left me a bit nervous about making another online purchase. The second time around I decided to stick with what I was familiar with: wool, medium pile, hand tufted. I wish I could afford hand knotted instead as they are far more durable and take high traffic areas well, but that was not in my budget. Hand tufted rugs will over time loose some of the threads, especially if you are not careful to vacuum it using a low suction and high elevation in order to avoid excessive pull on the rug. Wool rugs typically shed for few months, but the shedding is not bad at all with this rug. I do not see wool fiber on the floor next to it, and it only appears on top of the rug as we use it. Knowing that I have prepared myself for vacuuming it with a low suction vacuum cleaner nearly daily for the first week or so, and then as needed. If that is a nuisance, you might want to consider other materials instead of wool. The colors are absolutely beautiful - rich but not loud. I ordered the charcoal one with red border. We absolutely love it. With two dogs in the house I wanted to go with mostly dark colors. This rug really meets those needs, yet it is so beautiful and really brings everything together in my living room. I think the colors are true to the picture. The thickness of the rug is another of my favorite features. I love the feel of walking on it. Since I originally bought a much lower pile rug, I worried that the rug pad I ordered from Home Depot at the time would now be way to thick for this rug. Well, it was definitely not needed, but oh my do we love the effect! That is now our most favorite rug in the house. It is so plush, so soft, so comfortable, so beautiful. We cannot be more satisfied with our purchase. Plus we were able to secure 60% off of the original price for shopping around the holidays. At the end, I should mention that the customer service was really good. My money for the return of the first rug was refunded within days. The only thing I did not like was that the return shipping was very expensive. Not sure if it goes by weight, but if it does I am happy that I did not have to return this far heavier rug, but only the very light, no pile one. I would hate to find out how much the return shipping would be for it. Word of advice - review all the information available to you! From return policy, to specs, reviews - both good and bad ones - and especially customers' images when available. Also, make sure to study the differences between different materials and construction methods before deciding on your next rug. There is so much to learn. Good luck!
