Red beans and rice-nice!

I love that a Louisiana food is offered in a no sodium added version. I am on a low-sodium diet, for the rest of my life. The trick is to sauté onions, celery, garlic, bell peppers, or any other vegetables of choice. Once the sautéed onions are added, throw in any others you wish, and cook with the beans. Add cayenne, pepper flakes, and black pepper, to taste. For a super-quick dinner, use a frozen or shelf-stable pouch of unseasoned rice. All the flavor, with none of the salt!
