Great All Around Basic Tape Measure

This tape measure doesn't have all the bells and whistles a lot of tapes have these days. But what is does have is an easy to read numbers and every marking a carpenter needs. It's a tough durable DeWalt quality tape. The standout is so firm that I was able to take a measure floor to ceiling at 18ft easily. You can keep all your falling off magnets, I'll take this tough tape and get the job done right. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Won`t lock

I haven`t had any issues of flaking like some others have mentionned, but I've had the tape less than 6 months, have probably used it 4 times, and the locking mecanism has stopped working already and the tape retracts itself if I don`t physically hold the button down in place. I expected much better from DEWALT. Will be reaching out for warranty.

Did not last.

I have only owned this for a few months and it has only been used around two dozen times. When I went to extend it I heard a noise inside the tape. Now it will not roll up the last 6 to 7 inches. I have taken it a part to try and wind it back to the correct load several times without luck. I will try to warrant it and see what Dewalt or the retailer backs.
