Great product and substitute for white rice!

I was pleasantly surprised about the quality and taste. I especially was surprised that there was a recipe in the back of the container to show you exactly how to make it so that it would come out perfectly. I used chicken stock with mine and it was delicious even my husband liked it and he does not normally Like quinoa. I made it as a side dish. Better nutrition than white rise. I highly recommend this item.

Good quality product and a healthy alternative to pasta or rice. It is one of our “superfood”. It is a seed but we prepare it and eat it like a grain. Was cultivated in ancient time by the Incas 5000 years ago. GLUTEN FREE for those who cannot tolerate wheat. More people should eat it. It is very versatile in many ethnic recipes.

Nice Nutty Flavor

This tri-color quinoa is not only pretty to look at, but it's very tasty for a seed closely related to beetroot, amaranth or spinach. I like the soft mouthfeel of this hearty seed. Because quinoa has a good amount of protein per serving (6g) and fiber (3), I feel full for a long time after the meal. Cooking this is pretty much like cooking rice. One cup of quinoa to two cups of water, bring to a boil, cover the pot, then lower the temperature and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Can't get much simpler than that! The instructions do say to rinse the quinoa before cooking, but I like the texture when I don't rinse. l didn't notice any bitter taste, but it's a personal preference. I've read that letting it sprout will increase the nutritional value, but I haven't tried that yet. Quinoa is one of those 'good for you' foods because it has several health benefits. I won't list them all here, but if you do a search for quinoa health benefits, you'll find lots of great information.
