This 12", small fan packs some power. Its made from heavy duty metal and comes with a 6' fabric cord. It has 3 speeds and an oscillation button. I use it every night by my bedside, the lowest setting is enough to keep from sweating profusely throughout the night. It does have a low, humming sound that doesn't bother me because I need white noise to help me sleep.
