works great, looks good with oil stain
Great product. Used some Thompsons transparent cedar timber oil on the cedar wood, came out great. Some of the wood had some scuffs/abrasions from the packaging. Easy to put together. Staining took longer. Some of the wood screws were not thick enough to grip the wood, so I used some thicker screws, same length. Some of the legs when mounted were a little off of balance, but not bad. Can be corrected. but I did not correct this one, because with soil it will weigh it down. I'm not disappointed nor did I expect perfection. Great raised bed planter.
Love this Raised Garden. BH&G Cedar with shelf
I love my, Better Homes & Gardens Cedar Raised Garden Bed. I had to partly assemble it, only the legs and bottom shelf, which was not hard to do by myself. it is a beautiful natural cedar wood. The wood can be coated with a protector seal that would bring out the cedar color even more. I left my natural though. It is a very large area for growing plants. I'm going to absolutely enjoy this raised bed on my deck. I highly recommend this raised garden bed. In fact I believe it is perfect for anyone who loves gardening that lives in an apartment or condo where they only have a little balcony. This raised bed allows the perfect amount of gardening for anyone even with the smallest yard or balcony area. This is also a perfect gift for anyone with children. Because this is a great height for teaching kids all about gardening and watching things grow. The wood itself is lovely. I have read other reviews where people are saying it's in poor condition but I would like to say that it is a very beautiful wood and yes there are some imperfections, even a small splintered pieces but once this is assembled and you were actually using it it is beautiful . It is exactly as functional as it's supposed to be and you will completely enjoy it. I give it a five-star for its affordable price, its beauty and for the amount of gardening space you have in it and the amount of space you have on the shelf. This garden is going to be used for years and years to come.
Beautiful
My husband always complained about my plants being in the house so when I saw this I had to get it. Easy to assemble only took about 30 minutes and it's pretty sturdy. It comes with a black covering for the inside where the soil goes. It's great for a beginner gardener. I wish it came with something to secure it to the side of the flower bed so that it stayed open but that's an easy fix.
