Behrens BWBG7 Galvanized Washboard, 1-1/2 in L, 7-1/2 in W, Wood

It does look like the picture, mostly. The size - if u have any type of measurer at home, measure something closer to the description size because it's REALLY small. I do a lot of washing either by hand or in a small .. mini washer/spinner so I'm either washing in the sink or rinsing and anything bigger than panties, bras, socks, washcloths, dish towels is pretty difficult so I thought I was genius to get a wash board for shirts and other bigger items but that's not what this size board is due, I would only fit those smaller items, using that. If you want this for decor, it's nice. It's not going to work for bigger clothes washing by hand.. I was joking w my friend when I opened the box about how if I wanted to wash a shirt on this boats I'd have to do it little sections at a time, sleeve then neck .. and so on which just doesn't even make sense to bother. May as well use my hands since I would still have to grabbing and maneuvering the items to get little sections on the board. What made it worse that I decided to return was, it didn't look new. Now, I didn't see any damage on the wood like others but the metal didn't look very clean, it didn't have any packaging or tags.. it was just AS IS... as the picture thrown into a SHIPPING box w some air bags around it so it was protected while shipped but who's to say or know how many homes this was in and returned before I got it and I'm sorry but when I buy something BRAND NEW from a STORE and not used, not open box, etc . I want a NEW item, either packaged or like clothes, at least with a TAG... but yea, 17 inches is MUCH smaller in person than just assuming and it's not just short but VERY narrow so this is no help to me for what I bought it for. As decor, it'd be cute but I have enough decor and NEED a useable wash board. I should have looked at my vinyl measure tape to see just how small 17 inches actually was w another item but where it was described as large and being in a rush and seeing these kinds of boards when their actual LARGE WASH BOARDS, I just thought it'd be big enough to eat actual clothes and not just delicates and under garments and stuff like that. My mini washer and my hands can do those.

The dimensions stated are for the washboard, The actual galvanized rubbing area is very small. However, the small area It is adequate for removing spots from clothing .
