This tap works pretty well. Much better than the "picnic tap" style on a hose. In fact I now have two like this one. Assembly is awkward but manageable, at least after a couple of tries. The tap itself features a star attachment to the ball lock assembly, and the tap will "cant" or twist to one side or the other if you don't get it perfectly aligned (why? would anyone want this?) Getting that in place is tough without at least three hands, at least until you get the hang of it. Biggest complaint is that the tap has no spring or other automatic shutoff. If you are not careful, you'll spray mead or beer all over the floor more than once. I looped heavy rubber bands around the handle and the opposite post. It's unsightly but it works until the rubber bands break. A tap with a shutoff would certainly cost much more. Don't hesitate to buy this. Just understand its limitations.
