I love this mix. I always add my own fresh diced potatoes, at least one block of cream cheese, some freshly shredded cheddar and cheddar sauce. Then I top the soup with freshly cut green onion, sour cream and bacon bits. This is definitely in my top 5 list of favorite meals at home.

Fortunately the finished product was not too salty. That would have been sad since I'm trying to lower my blood pressure which means reducing my salt intake. I added some extra cheese because I don't think you can ever have too much cheese. Overall not a bad deal.

I love this soup. I used to get the plain potato and add cheese. You can stretch this by adding 2 additional cups (10 cups) and dice or cube some potatoes. To make it excellent, I add green onion tops and bacon pieces to my bowl. So yummy, and seasoned just right. I'm not a good cream soup maker, so having a mix is great. Of course, it's good with just the soup mix and no extras, which is good when you don't have all the extras.
