Perfect Base for Creative Soups

I buy Bear Creek Cheddar Broccoli Soup Mix all the time and love it! It's delicious on its own, but what makes it truly special is how versatile it is. I use it as a base for vegetable or chicken soups, adding different ingredients each time — and it always turns out great. A reliable pantry staple in my kitchen!

Bear Creek Country Kitchens Cheddar Broccoli Soup

Oh my goodness!! We LOVE this Bear Creek Country Kitchens Cheddar Broccoli Soup Mix!!! I also bought some broccoli florets, which I chopped up fine in my little blender. Added that broccoli to the soup mix to make it even heartier. Ahhhh! It always turns out so delicious. I also use 1% or 2% milk, not water. It is so creamy and scrumptious! Everyone thinks I'm a master chef when I make this soup. Bear Creek Soup mixes are so good. I don't buy any other brands now. Bear Creek is my "go-to" for that hearty home-made soup.

Tips to make the best darn broccoli cheese soup that's a perfect dinner for a chilly fall evening or the perfect lunch on a cold winter day! 1. Dice up and sauté half of a Vidalia sweet onion until nearly caramelized. Set to the side. 2. The recipe on the package calls for 8 cups of water. But, no ma'am, go ahead and go all in with 4 cups of whole milk and 4 cups of H2O. 3. While you're milk/water is heating up, start steaming approx 2 cups (honestly put as little or as much as you'd like, this part is preferential) of broccoli florets. (fresh or frozen, doesn't matter) 4. Once you've whisked your soup mix into your milk/water. Add ya some pepper, a lil bit of salt, and a touch of garlic powder (just enough to make it warm and home-y, not overpowering). Or instead, you can use a seasoning blend such as Weber Steak 'N Chop Seasoning or Blackstone Steakhouse Seasoning... I personally love both of these. They're very similar. Either way, seasoning is also preferential, so season to taste. 5. Add the onions and broccoli to your soup and let the pot simmer on low for another 5 mins so all the flavors can marry....more like elope. Then, if you have some shredded cheddar cheese handy (I like to use the shredded triple cheddar from Great Value) you can sprinkle a couple fistfuls directly into the pot and give it a few swirls. Or sprinkle a little over each bowl/serving with some good bread, rolls, or even some crackers on the side. Or serve it up in a nice fancy bread bowl. Put it in your hard-working hubby's canteen for lunch. Perfect after-school snack for kids on a cold day. Make this soup the same way I do and you will not regret it!! It's so yummy delicious that even my picky eater, who hates broccoli, loves this soup!! And to clarify, I give 5 stars all around. It asked me how many stars I'd give for "salty". Which threw me off bc I thought that was super weird and confusing, so for "salty" I gave 3 stars because I wasn't sure if it was asking if it was too salty or what. To be honest, Walmart, "salty" makes zero sense for a star category. I'm not sure how much sodium is actually in it. But it doesn't taste like too much. May want to check the nutrition facts if sodium is a concern of yours. ✌🏼🫶🏼🤘🏼
