Barilla Chickpea Pasta is made with one simple ingredient: chickpea flour. The only surprise is how much you can make with it! Our Chickpea Penne Pasta contains 21 grams of protein and 15 grams of fiber into each 3.5-ounce serving, is certified gluten free and non-GMO, and contains no xanthan gum. Chickpea pasta cooks just like traditional pasta. Simply boil 4-6 quarts of salted water, add the pasta and boil for 7-9 minutes.

I always have a few boxes in the cupboardI have been using this pasta for over a year as I need plant based diet for health reasons, and we enjoy both the Chickpea and Red Lentil for all our pasta dishes. A slightly "stiffer" consistancy than regualr pasta but the alternative is no pasta at all. We have used it in all variety of pasta dishes from regular Spahgetti to Pasta Salad, form Greek Pastitsio to Chickun Parmigiana. Thank you for offering this product and for consideration for those who need this for health reason

Tasty, versatile, and packed with protein!
This chickpea penne is almost impossible to find now. But why? It is tasty, holds up to any meat or vegetable based sauce--tomato or creamy. The chickpeas add a slight firmness that makes it truly al dente and has a nutty flavor that complements a variety of flavors. A winner!

Good flavored alternative to traditional pasta
These are tasty, healthy, and honestly hold up really well against traditional pasta--just with added protein. I think it may be a little harder than regular pasta, but cooking it a bit longer fixes that. The taste is similar to regular pasta, but a bit richer and a hint of the chickpea flavor. Everyone in my family liked it.
