Some straps are elastic which allow the important parts to stretch when needed. I can wear them comfortably all day long Mission Mark I'm buying another pair and black because they are so comfortable. When I called the company the return the first pair I bought that were too narrow, the person you answer the phone spoke English didn't put me on hold once I had my refund within a week.

This is my third pair of this style. They changed the closure from a zipper to velcro which I think is an improvement although it make the back of the shoe bulkier. The denim color is slightly brighter than the older blue color. I receive compliments often on the style. Super comfortable sole and good support for my high arch and forefoot. I buy an 8 1/2 when I normally buy 9. They do stretch out over time (one of the reasons I have multiple pairs.)
