DeWALT 50 Piece Mechanics Tool Set

This is a high quality ratchet and set of sockets Made in Taiwan. The Ratcheting mechanism is smooth with decent tooth count (72). The length is good and the handle is great. The head is serviceable. Best of all, it's low profile including the selector set. There's enough Youtube videos on the quality of these ratchets to satisfy homeowners and professionals. The sockets and adapters are machined precisely, locking securely to the ratchet anvil without that floppiness / wobble you see in cheaper sets. The speeder handle is ergonomic. The exensions have decent knurling to allow for finger turning. The bits lock securely into the bit adapter. The case is rugged. About sockets falling out: it's easy to identify right side up. The top side has DeWalt in big black letters on it. And even if you open both sides together, the sockets do not fall out. You'd have to open the case upside down to get them to fall out. This is a typical design for these types of cases. At least the DeWalt is deep and precise enough that sockets don't fall out of their slots just from moving it around. I have zero complaints about this set and can recommend it to homeowners, DIYers, and professionals who need to keep an extra set that's easy to grab and go. That being said, there's always room for improvement. My suggestions for improving the set: 1. Include a 5.5mm socket. There's room for a slot adjacent to the bit adapter. 2. Include a female drive end on the spinner handle. While the knurling on the extensions is nice, being able to use a spinner handle as an extension adds flexibility and matches the overall quality of this set. 3. Include some common torx bits instead of extra screwdriver bits. 4. I'm not sure if the bits are S2 tool steel or CrV. If they are CrV, upgrade them to S2. Then we won't need dupes.

This great compact set that won't take up a lot of room in your tool box or truck. The ratchet works really well in tight spaces, that extra little click you get out the ratchet makes all the difference in the world in a tight spot. Love this mechanics tool set!
