These bulbs make any light socket a security light. I have one on the front and back porch. Now when I come home at night, the light will come on, so I can see to get in better. I thought the bulb would need to be exposed to the sun to work, but it doesn't. It's very easy to use, just insert bulb and turn the light switch on.

Hands-free lighting without flipping a switch

These are a great solution for walk-in closets... and any where you'd like instant light without flipping a switch. It's a much cheaper, hassle-free alternative to putting switches in doors or installing occupancy or motion sensors. Two caveats: 1) they are not meant for use in enclosed fixtures (heat reduces LED lifespan), and 2) the sensor at the bulb tip means it may not fit in your standard globe-type fixture. We just took the globes off the fixtures. Out of 4 bulbs I purchases, 1 did not seem to work. 1100 lumens really lights up a closet!

Less energy, more lumens and motion detection

Wanted to get more light in the garage with the motion sensing capability and this 75W equivalent LED bulb works perfectly. It detects motion well in my garage and stays on for 5 minutes afterwards. The only feature that wasn't obvious from the description is that the motion sensing only seems to work when its darker; which is fine with me since I don't need the extra light during daylight hours.
