“I want my clean as pure as Ivory!”

If I could, I would give the new plant based formulation of Ivory no stars. It is misleading to call this bar original. P&G claims they are trusted but they certainly are not trusted by me any longer. I have been using the original bar since I was a child and I am now 50. My skin is sensitive and any other product would make it dry and itchy. Now, I have that problem with this new formula of Ivory bar soap. It's terrible. It doesn't lather, it smells terrible and makes my skin dry and itchy. I am extremely disappointed. Why would you change a perfectly tried and true product after all these years? This is a huge mistake, Proctor & Gamble. I unfortunately cannot buy this soap any longer. If you change it back to the formula with tallow, I will gladly use it again. Please fix your mistake. Coca Cola did in the 80s. You can, too. It's so sad you would change this soap to a sub standard product for all your loyal customers.

Soap Formula Change with NO Notification

I think this is horrible that they change the formula of the bar soap and not inform the consumer. It's impossible for the customer to trust in a product, when these companies add/remove ingredients and not advertise the change. What the heck did you do to the soap? Why doesn't it float anymore? Why does it smell funny? Are these new ingredients even good for the skin? What ARE the new ingredients?! I have used this soap because of it's well know "purity"....now I have to buy handmade soap because I lost faith in Proctor and Gamble. At least the name fits. You take a "Gamble" every time you use a product.

We appreciate your feedback on the Ivory Original Bar Soap and your loyalty! We're so sorry to hear you are unhappy with the formula change. Back in 2023 we switched from Animal based cleansers to plant-based cleansers, which has slightly altered the scent, and we have also added Tetrasodium Etidronate and Titanium Dioxide. The process in which it is produced has changed as well and now requires less water, which in turn makes it more dense, which results in it no longer floating; however, it is still 99.44/100% pure and is still very safe to use even if it doesn't float! New formula is terrible!

New formula…terrible!!!!!!!!

Why oh why did you change the formula? New soap doesn't lather, doesn't float, smells horrible, is irritating to the skin…I mean are you trying to kill this soap off and make it so people don't buy it so you can justify discontinuing it? This is a disgusting corporate move. Bring back a tallow based product which we knew and loved for decades being back original Ivory soap!!! You ought to be ashamed for making such horrible changes and still marketing it as the old stuff. This is a new and terrible soap!!!
