Zatarain's Non-GMO Gluten Free Family Size Yellow Rice, 12.0 oz Box

I was a bit skeptical when trying this product. The past boxed rice kits were overly salty and either over or under seasoned. I was pleasantly surprised at how balanced the Zatarain's Yellow Rice kit was! I have very picky children and there were NO complaints! This is a rare occurrence in my house! I will absolutely be purchasing this product again!

I had low expectations because I don't usually make rice out of a box. In my past experiences, it's usually too salty. Also, my husband and kids like plain white rice so I make what they like to eat. What I liked about this product is that it was so easy. I only needed to add water although I did add the optional butter. It was just like making white rice on the stovetop. I didn't have to worry about stirring it or that it would burn. I tossed all the ingredients in a pot and turned the heat down to a simmer once it started to boil. Then when the timer went off, I removed it from the stove and waited another 5 minutes then it was done! It smelled so good. I gave it a taste test and it was favorable, but not too salty. I can imagine playing it with chicken, pork, fish, or shrimp. I had my picky young daughters and husband try it and unfortunately they all did not like it. That being said, it was good enough that I would actually buy it for myself.
