Don't let that Humming bird feeder line fool you, this is a real Shepherd Hood. I bought a metal bird feeder, and when its full it weights 10 to 12 pounds. None of my Shepherd Hooks could hold it. This Shepherds Hook is 35 pounds solid steel, but it has a wide base or dog leg for lack of a better name, and that's a key feature so it doesn't tip over. It's 92 inches tall but you step 10 inches into the ground and hang a feeder with cord that is 16 inches tall, so the feeder is 5 feet 6 inches off the ground. Just a quick note; Deer can eat out of your feeder as high as 6 feet, so make your adjustments. It will arrive in a box eight feet long 16 inches wide and only 2 inches thick. It is heavy so be careful. Also you can use it for hanging flower pots, in soft ground it can handle a 20 pound pot in stone or hard ground who knows you're not going to bend it. It's black powder coated so it's not going to rust.

The tall shepherds hooks are thicker steel than the shorter ones and are made of solid steel, not tubing. They seem to be much sturdier than others. They work well for me.
