Rust-Oleum Wood Stain - Antique White

My husband has been using this specific stain on many wood projects. He has used thin coats and followed the directions accordingly and he has used thicker coats to create an almost vintage painted look. It goes on smooth and is beautiful. The only thing that I wish I knew before starting in with this product was how hard it would be to find in-store. We have used atleast 10 small cans over the past 6 months and we have had to track it down twice at different Wal-Marts. We prefer to purchase in store and not online. We almost resorted to online the last time but found it at a store about 30 miles from us, purchased for same day pickup and boom! Overall, love this product and specifically the color.

Too Thick For Staining, Too Watery For Painting

It was like literal paint. We followed all of the instructions and it went on like watery paint and didn't wipe off at all. It stuck to the cloth. It's too watery to be a paint, but its way too thick to be a stain. I wouldn't recommend it.

Something is amiss here, Houghton! Our Rust-Oleum Ultimate Wood Stain Half-Pint, Antique White is a wiping stain, and the excess stain must be wiped away after flood coating the surface and allowing it to penetrate the wood surface for several minutes.
