Great cabinet for the price.

This is an attractive, reinforced cabinet, however it takes quite a bit of time to put together. I've put many things like this together, it still took about 4 hours to get it done. I do like that it has an additional cross beam for added strength, and it is an attractive piece, looks more expensive than it is.

Particle board. No room for error.

This is a aquarium stand meaning that there is a slight chance that it could possibly get wet. I'm not sure what genius thought it would be a good idea to make a aquarium stand out of flimsy particle board but I can tell you that it was not a good idea. I accidentally leaked out some water from my tank due to not having a valve on my air hose and I left it dangling over the side while maintaining my aquarium. I noticed the leak and quickly cleaned up and dried the water from the floor and around the stand but it was too late. The particle board sucked up the water fast like a sponge and immediate damage begun. The boards started warping and the stand was buckling under the pressure. I had to empty my entire tank and take the tank off. I contacted the manufacturers and explained them the situation but because I didn't have the manual and proof of purchase they couldn't do anything. But actually by then there was really nothing that could've been done except replacing every board but the top piece. I ended up just selling the aquarium and trashing the stand. I have 3 other aquariums that I built the stands using real treated wood that I had laying around and only had to buy the nails, screws and wood glue. I could drain my entire tank on the floor and they wouldn't budge. I would recommend if you're needing a stand to go with a metal one, they're sturdy and nice looking or see what you have laying around in terms of 2x4s, 4x4s and plywood and get creative and build your own customized stand. There are examples and plans online you can go by. What I wouldn't recommend is buying a aquarium stand made out of particle board. I tried to upload 2 pics of the damage but it wouldn't let me. Just take my word for it. Accidents happen, meaning spilled water, but the damage is unrepairable and irreversible.
