Algreen 12401 Modena Self Watering Irrigating Planter Box Pot, Gloss White

This is a solid planter and the graphite color is exactly as pictured on the website; it is not shiny but more of a matted nickel color. It is lightweight plastic that is painted in a metallic color (just a tad sparkly). It has a water reservoir at the bottom and a very convenient watering system, whereby you simply pour water in the tube that runs along the back side of the inner corner, and it fills and refills the water reservoir at the bottom. There is a little test-tube like mechanism that sticks out of the top of the drainage tube, with a small red stick inside of it which shows the water level. As the plant hydrates and the water level depletes, the red dip stick moves downward so you know when to fill it up again. There is no drainage hole at the bottom, so no need to put a water catcher under the planter - it sits as/is on the ground. I don't think this planter will fare well outside, it is an indoor planter. It comes up to my upper shins (i am 5'5"") so is just tall enough to make for a great floor planter with no need to put it on a plant table or riser. I am very pleased with it!
