Equipped with internal, self-testing components that are always checking to ensure the device is operating as expected, while photoelectric sensing technology provides state-of-the-art smoke and fire detection, giving you peace of mind. Operating on (2) AA batteries (included), the battery-operated smoke & carbon monoxide detector, also features LED warning lights in conjunction with an 85 decibel alarm that alert you to various status: a green light means the unit is in proper working operation, an amber light indicates an operating error, and a red light indicates a smoke, fire, or carbon monoxide incident. The test-hush button allows testing of the alarm, while the hush button allows for temporary silence of the alarm. UL Certified. Includes a 10-year limited manufacturer's warranty. Meets requirements of UL 2034, UL217, NFPA72, NFPA 101, FHA, & HUD.

I rated the product this way because of the ability to get the product from different places. Seeing that the Walmart brand is known and dependable I would believe that the product pricing would be a little better for this item. After shopping around the price difference was only a dollar or so. It really comes down to preference but since I have been a Walmart customer for 20 years they will ultimately win out.

Useless Garbage
As many others have said, multiple 900-CUAR units in my new build failed. 3 beeps with no alarm condition but the LED is off. New batteries, unplugging and plugging back into AC, etc. I'm not going to keep buying these so will now have to uninstall all of them and get covers for the holes. Complete garbage
