Delta Victorian Monitor 17 Series Tub & Shower Trim in Polished Brass

I bought and installed this when I had my home remodeled in 2006. It worked fine for about 3 years. Then the slide in the cartridge quit working so all we got was cold water. Could not use the shower at all because the water temperature would not change. I ordered a new cartridge and replaced it and it worked for about 2 years and then I had to order another cartridge and it lasted about the same time. It quit working right about 2 years after replacing but this time I just quit replacing the cartridge. You can get it to get warm but everything is upside down for some reason. The handle will rotate all the way around turning the water on and off but it drips all the time. I am so tired of this but will have to take out the tile in the shower to replace the whole assembly with another brand. I did not know it came with a lifetime warranty. I have spent several hundred dollars on replacing cartridges. I had a water well and am not sure if the water had minerals or calcium that made the slide stick. We took it apart several times and cleaned it and it would work for a short time until we had to replace it. I got pretty handy at taking it apart and putting it back together. I now have city water and am going to buy another cartridge and see if it works longer this time.

I purchased this shower valve three years ago and the other day my wife went to shut off the water and the handle kept turning she finally had shut it off but the handle was still loose upon inspecting it I took the handle off and noticed the threads were worn. I also noticed that the plastic valve that the handle attaches to was also worn. How does a plastic valve wear out the threads on the metal handle. The other problem that we have had was that the temperature lever has been stiff to move for a while.
