Perfect extra beds!

I bought these for my spare room for three reasons - I have triplet grandbabies and can sleep all 3 on the futon until they are old enough to fight over the top bunk (then 2 down and one up); it gives me extra beds for other guests, and it provides functional seating in my spare room that doubles as a rec/play room. It went together smoothly - no issues at all. I needed the assistance of my 12- and 10-year-olds briefly to hold some pieces in place while assembling the framework, but other than that, this 50-year-old woman did it by herself. The packaging of the hardware was great - individual pouches for each type nut, washer and bolt, and appropriately labeled. Tools were included - 2 allen wrenches, 2 flat wrenches for holding the nuts. The flat wrenches slipped and wore quickly but I just grabbed a socket from my toolkit. Also, an extra allen wrench was needed for tightening a couple receded bolts, but I happened to have the correct size so it must've been standard (my tool supply is sparse). In the end, it is a secure unit - it has minor sway with weight on the top bunk during motion, but nothing scary. The futon movement (from couch to bed) is confusing at first, but once you know how its done, its smooth and easy. There were some minor paint dings (I got the silver - which is a painted metallic finish - not chrome or brushed aluminum as I thought it might be), but luckily in concealed areas...and for the price and my purposes, I am not complaining. The biggest downside - in the box, it is SUPER HEAVY. It was delivered to my garage at my request when I wasn't home. We dragged to the front porch and up and in the front door, where I opened the box and carried piece by piece up to my 2nd floor. Just an FYI.

Very Satisfied with the entire process.

The entire process was really easy. Ordering online was easy, tracking my product was easy (after getting the e-mail with the tracking number), item arrived at the store just as the tracking info had said (it arrived earlier than the original shipping date they gave me when I purchased it online. So, following the e-mails with the tracking info from Walmart is important; it will let you know exactly where your shipment is and when it will arrive to the designation), pick-up and take your item home. That easy. Me, my 7 year old grand-daughter and 2 of my sisters put it together with no problem; just follow the directions. It helps if you have an area to organize all the tools spread out so that you can see everything you have. My grand-daughter loves her new bed.

love it

we originally didn't want to get a metal bed so first we bought the cheapest wooden bed from walmart, got it up to our 3rd floor apartment, put it together and although the wood was nice we realized the kids could easily jump on it and probably break the wood slats and im only 5'3 and couldn't sit on the bed without ducking and hitting my head so after a month of being unhappy we took it apart back to walmart got a refund and ordered this one online for the same price just spent an extra 130 on a really great futon mattress, I had one like this when I was a kid and I remember doing all sorts of stuff and it never broke. it came in the store a few days early one huge box my poor boyfriend had to carry upstairs but when it was all put together I was so happy. the kids love it and even my 6'2 boyfriend can sit on it and not hit his head. its also great for making tents on the bottom bunk, the only thing that worries me is when a kid gets on the top it wobbles a bit but I think that's just what a metal bunk bed does, it still seems very safe.
