My first casting reel was an Abu Garcia 5500c back in 1974. I still have that reel, and it still works well. Abu Garcia has been my preferred reel ever since. Speed trumps power

When swimming a jig, or fishing a Texas rigged Berkley Power Worm you can't beat speed. Easier to slow down than speed up...this new generation STX is great. If your a tournament angler and are not using the 8:1 ratio Revo STX you are at a disadvantage.

Abu garcia is excellent in there new reels. The stx is light in hand. Smooth cast and retrieve. I go from light lures to large jigs without much adjustment. Large handles, very comfortable. Not getting used to silver look. Needs more carictor. In my opinion
