Works better with DC power supply

I have owned this model for 3 years. I use a 9Vdc 400mv supply which is sufficient to not overdrive the unit and to reduce any possible interference. The variable output is convenient for older records (pre 1975) which often are made at a lower sound output. The ON lamp is bright but can be covered. If you can find a way to connect to your amp switched AC out, then the unit will turn off when the amp is turned off. You must properly ground this unit as you would ALL audio equipment.

I've only had it for 3 days but sounds great.

Easy to connect to my turntable. My previous preamp did not have a gain switch like this one. It does make a difference in the sound playback. Also being able to 'customize' the amp for the type of cartridge and stylus helps improve the overall sound.
