I am happy with this purchase, however upon inspection I don't see the felt layer. I see the two foam and the aluminum. But it is thick and I put it over my old cover and pad. You do have to stretch this to make it fit. Instruction for doing this is including. A little high priced for an ironing board cover but I think I will be satisfied with this purchase.
