The graphics and speed are AMAZING! It's seamless, efficient, and fast. Since the operating system is installed on the SSD (vs the HDD), starting the operating system and loading of ALL programs are super fast. From what I know, anytime an operating system is installed on an SSD, it will always load and operate quickly for years without any noticeable decrease in speed or efficiency. I've changed all my desktops and laptops over to SSD a long time ago, so I know how reliable it is. As for the HDD, it's great that this includes such a large capacity, but I would change it out as well for a SSD, which as of now, the price of a 1TB SSD is only $150. It's well worth the price in pairing with this laptop because of its superb graphics and processor hardware. In fact, I'm pretty sure HP kept this laptop's price down with a HDD so people can go buy the 1TB SSD upgrade elsewhere (because it's so easy to change out!) – it's what people call “customizable laptops”. The only offset is that you don't get a CD-DVD drive with this. There is no room internally for that, but buying an external one is not going to break $50. Playing Xbox games on this has been amazing. No lags, no hardware restrictions, and the graphics are just brilliant. It plays anything and everything, having met ALL hardware requirements for all games past and present. It even does phenomenally with video streaming, game streaming, the Oculus Rift, and rendering 4K videos. Overclocking is great, but not necessary – and of course would shorten the battery playtime. The ONLY THING I didn't really like was the audio. I noticed that HP improved it slightly from their previous model, but it's still somewhat soft. Earphones – here I come! Lol. The 17-inch screen is something I would not compromise though. Smaller screens are okay for on the go and stuff, but for gamers, you want a good, big screen, and this one is JUST right! Their battery has also been improved. It is no longer big, bulky, and heavy (like their previous Omen model). It's been slimmed down by about 30% from the previous model - I love it! This sucker laptop is big and heavy, don't get me wrong, but this is one of the best laptops on the market with some of the best features and hardware on the market as of right now. At this price-point, it's a solid buy, in my opinion. As an advanced gamer and user, I highly recommend this laptop. You'll love this even if you're not a gamer; my wife uses it for her business even though she has her own laptop. She says she can see more things on the screen and things run as fast as she thinks! But she mentioned she wouldn't take it to meetings (because of the logo on the front – haha!).
