I'd say "keeps your head warm" only I have the other problem, which is my head gets TOO warm wearing my helmet. I'm NOT going to stop wearing my helmet, because I like my brain just the way it is. But this cotton Do Rag Cap solves that problem, at least enough so that my head stays cool(er) than it would have been otherwise, so that I don't sweat and itch so much just because I like my skull and brain to be in one piece. This might not be important to you unless you also prefer to go through life without major head damage.
An inner head liner might not be the ultimate solution but it makes a long rough ride way more comfortable than it could have been otherwise, while I stay protected -especially when the environment gets real hot. If you've ever been to the High Desert and gone out in the sun for a few hours you get what I mean...
I bought a few of these so another one's dry in my pocket and it only takes a few seconds to switch the soggy one out.
Once you fit it to your head you don't need to mess around because it just slips on. A great little invention and worth wearing for the comfort. Also keeps the sand and stuff out of your hair. (Unless you don't care about that.)
