For me too many ceiling fans still have an old timey look. This ceiling fan has barrel/ tube shape base, not a skinny tube. Center light, not separate lights with glass shades. Three clean looking blades instead of five. And remote control instead of hanging chains. Beautiful gold tone finish. Good modern design.
